Is WedStay Legit?

WedStay is operated by WedStay LLC, a Nevada limited liability company founded in 2023. It is run by a US-based team that manages venue partnerships, vendor curation, and wedding coordination.

WedStay LLC is named as the contracting entity in the Terms of Service, and its registration is public record in Nevada.

Every venue on WedStay has a direct agreement with the company; there are no scraped or unclaimed listings. A team member reviews each property before it publishes, venues receive in-person visits or live video walkthroughs, and vendor profiles in The WedStay Collective are checked by our team and removed if they don't meet our standards.

Touring a WedStay property requires a fully refundable deposit ($1,000 in person, $250 for a live video tour), and WedStay does not charge any fee for tours. The deposit is credited to your booking price if you book, or refunded in full if you don't, and WedStay has collected and returned well over six figures in tour deposits.

WedStay properties are private estates, villas, and castles that also operate as rentals outside of weddings, so opening one for a private tour means coordinating owners, caretakers, and existing guests. The deposit exists for one reason: it tells everyone involved that a couple is serious. It is not income, and WedStay earns nothing from a tour.

If you have seen posts claiming WedStay charges a tour fee, or keeps deposits: WedStay has never charged a fee for a tour, and every deposit from a couple who toured and did not book has been returned. If your tour deposit has not been credited or refunded, email info@thewedstay.com and it will be resolved.

Your booking agreement names who you contract with and pay: WedStay LLC or the property owner. Payment is a 50% deposit at signing and the balance 90 days before the event. Submitting a request is free; payment is taken only when you sign and pay the deposit. For US bookings, the WedStay Wedding Guarantee makes the deposit fully refundable, WedStay fees included, if you cancel 12 months or more before your arrival date. Inside 12 months, and for bookings outside the US, the listing's own cancellation policy applies.

The website never collects card details. Submitting a booking request is free and starts a conversation with a coordinator, who prepares the written contract. Payment is taken only when you sign and pay the deposit. Affirm payment plans are available for couples who prefer to pay over time; Affirm is named in our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Every WedStay venue is contracted for events, so hosting a wedding there is explicitly permitted rather than something a host might refuse or cancel. One agreement covers both the overnight stay and the celebration, and WedStay handles the communication and coordination with the property from first question to booked.

On a general short-term rental platform, events are often prohibited by house rules, and a host can decline or cancel. WedStay venues opt in to weddings as their business. Packages run roughly $2,500 to $41,250 and up with two-night minimums, stated on each listing.

Couples need event liability insurance for their wedding date, and WedStay purchases event insurance for every booking at a US property; the booking agreement names the policy. For properties outside the US, couples arrange any insurance the venue or local law requires. Vendors working WedStay weddings provide certificates of insurance.

WedStay publishes reviews from real couples at thewedstay.com/reviews, and every review is moderated before it appears. Reviews come from couples who married at WedStay venues, couples with upcoming bookings, and vendor partners.
